The SWE Austin section has four elected leadership positions. Our fiscal year runs from July 1st - June 30th with elections occurring in the spring leading up to the new fiscal year.
SWE Austin also provides members opportunities to participate outside of elected leadership positions.

2022 - 2023 SWE Austin Officers & Chairs
President
Cheryl Texin Cheryl Texin is a Principal Systems R&D Engineer for the Aerospace Defense and Government Business Unit at NI. She is an electrical engineer specializing in digital signal processing on real time targets. In her current role, she designs system level applications to supplement the product platform and provide enhanced reference architectures for the aerospace and defense industry. Her expertise includes RF communications systems as well as digital modulation and encoding algorithms supporting a variety of applications including radar and telemetry test platforms. She was awarded the NI “Excellence in RF” award for her demonstrated success in customer engagements. Cheryl is also a leading member of the NI Women’s Network, where she has been advocating for change and improvement of company policies to promote inclusion throughout the company. Cheryl was recognized by SWE for her efforts with the 2020 WE Local Integrator award. Cheryl’s SWE tenure has included speaking engagements at the WE18 National Conference in Minneapolis, MN and at the 2019 WE Local Conference in Tampa, FL in addition to the WE Local award. She has previously held Treasurer and Vice President positions within the Austin SWE section, and is currently serving as section President. |

Kim Eckert Kim A. Eckert is one of IBM’s senior technical female leaders reaching the penultimate designation as Distinguished Engineer. With 17 years of prior professional experience, Kim joined IBM in 2001, bringing a portfolio of expertise in software development, mainframe systems programming, data center operations, and management. Kim’s practical experiences span several technical domains including Enterprise Architecture, midrange virtualization, and software licensing optimization. Kim, as the current Enterprise Hybrid Cloud Services Leader and previously as the US Cloud Solutioning Center Delivery Guild Leader and Chief Architect, is an acknowledged leader who is responsible for setting the technical vision and strategy while generating important innovation and standards for delivery. Additionally, she is a Master Inventor, Member of the Academy of Technology Leadership Team, Open Group Master Certified, and IBM Architect certified. Victoria Lee Victoria Lee is a Systems Engineer on the Threat Intelligence team at Cloudflare. She has been active in SWE since her time as a student at The University of Texas at Austin, where she studied computer science and biomedical engineering. In addition to her role as SWE Austin’s Secretary, she is a member of the society-level Leadership Coaching Committee and SWENext Programs Committee. In her spare time, she enjoys learning foreign languages and reading. |
